IN2-AV is headhunting a Senior CAD Designer to join the leadership team at a premier experiential build firm in the heart of LA. This isn't a "paper project" environment. This firm builds massive, technical, "how-did-they-do-that" structures for the world’s biggest live events and brand activations.
THE VIBE
This is a high-octane, 100% in-person leadership role. The successful candidate won't just be an individual contributor; they will be the technical engine room. The role involves leading a team of drafters through complex 3D assemblies, ensuring every package is 100% fabrication-ready before it hits the floor.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the Squad: Mentor and manage a team of drafters across multiple fast-paced projects.
- Technical Mastery: Oversee the creation of technical drawing sets for massive metal structures, roof systems, and complex weldments.
- The Bridge: Act as the key liaison between the visionaries and the makers (Fabricators and Engineers).
- Process Architect: Establish the workflows and standards that allow the team to move from concept to build-ready documentation at lightning speed.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- SolidWorks Wizardry: 3 to 5+ years of advanced experience is essential.
- Leadership Grit: Proven experience managing teams or projects while keeping a squad aligned under tight deadlines.
- Physical Fluency: A deep understanding of wood, metal, and how things actually fit together in the real world.
- The Portfolio: Examples of work that prove an ability to handle complex "statement piece" engineering.
